As all women know, men tend to take literally everything we do as a sign that we’re flirting with or romantically interested in them. No matter how normal the behavior is or how we truly intend it, an activity men can do without anyone batting an eye often leads to women being branded as flirts, teases, or even worse…

This is why many women have stopped doing certain things around men, no matter how innocent the behavior may be. That’s why I wanted to ask women of all ages: What’s something you had to stop doing around men in order to not “lead them on?”

Maybe you had to stop complimenting men or showing concern for them because they always took it as a sign that you wanted something else or had feelings for them?

Perhaps you stopped wearing certain types of clothing around men, even if they were what made you feel good or were appropriate for the location or event, such as a sports bra and shorts at the gym?

Maybe it was something as simple as making eye contact or smiling at men in public or being physically affectionate with male friends?

Perhaps you stopped accepting favors from men, whether it was something as simple as a drink or even help completing a task?

Or maybe you’ve stopped being around men altogether to avoid any possible misinterpretations that could arise?
